Happy New Years!... From the Road

Today we got up at 5 am. I didn’t even stay up to watch the countdown… :l I guess after a while I don’t really care too much anymore too. Today we started out a bit earlier because we planned to stop in Hilton Head to visit my Aunt, Uncle and cousins who were staying there for the holidays. We arrived there at around 11:30 ish and just chilled with them till about 2:30 pm. It was such a gloomy day today but we still walked over to the beach since the resort they were staying at backed onto the beach. I found a sand dollar! I never knew what they really were, I’ve only seen them on TV after they’ve been bleached and everything. Me and my cousin found a couple of them though, but when we picked them up they were really weird looking on the bottom, and definitely still alive, so we threw them back in the ocean…

After being back on the road for quite some time, just 15 minutes to go actually according to the GPS, we came to a ferry port… it was 10:30pm and we had to take a ferry?! We didn’t even know if the ferry was running or not! We had just gotten this GPS actually and we were trying it out compared to our old one… at least the old one did not take us in unnecessary directions! I didn’t even know there was a ferry! Or a river actually! And we’ve been to Williamsburg, Virginia like a million times!!! Thank goodness there was a ferry running, it was really dark outside, then it started to hail as we were crossing the river. It was definitely a different experience while on the road… :l It took about 30 minutes to cross the dinky little river -.- The boat moved slower than the Disney boat transportation system. After that we finally got to the resort though which was a 5 minute drive from where the ferry dock was.
