VANCOUVER 2010 is finally here!!!
I'm so excited for the Vancouver 2010 Olympics. Not only do I love winter sports but it is on home soil! Plus Vancouver sets up as a breath taking backdrop to the events, it almost seems like it was photo shopped in.
The sports I'm most excited to watch are alpine skiing, moguls, and the Canadian all time favourite sport... HOCKEY! I hope that our men's team can do better than they did in Torino, that was embarrassing! (You must agree with me that getting 7th is embarrassing especially for us Canadians!) and we lost to a team because one of our LEAFS players lead them to the gold! Yet when he got back to the Leafs he sucked!!! (You all know who I'm talking about -.-) But overall in Torino I have to say we did really well. 24 medals and 3rd place in the world ranking! Hopefully we can step up our game on home turf :l
I just finished watching the opening ceremony not long ago, I have to say the graphics for the projected images were amazing! Especially the whales! But after a while it sort of got dull, I guess when you think about it that's what Canada's history is. I think they tried to fill up time by prolonging performances which could have been shorter :l I felt really bad when the arm did not raise =[ I thought Wayne Gretzky could have let her light his one since in the end he lit the big one on his own, but I guess that wasn't under his control. Anyways, I was very happy when Wayne Gretzky was the one to light the cauldron =D He is definitely one of my Canadian Heroes!
