I just got back from a 5 day trip to Chicago and Lake Geneva. We were only in Chicago for two days, but it was pretty much the highlight of the trip. It rained pretty much all week, but thankfully the day we were in Chicago it held out for a bit. We didn’t get around to a lot of things but we saw:
- Millennium Park
- Buckingham Fountain
- Cloud Gate (the “Bean”)
- The Tiffany glass dome
- Marilyn Monroe Statue
- Navy Pier
I wanted to see the Lincoln Park zoo but it was kind of far from where we parked. Plus parking there was a bit crazy because the zoo is free.

While in Chicago we of course had to try some of the famous Chicago style pizza. We stumbled upon this pizzeria nearby our hotel. Later I found out that this was the place my aunt also recommended: Giordano’s

cool pizza buzzer that lights up when your table is ready.

Since the pizza takes 45 mins to make from when you order it, we decided to get an appetizer (not such a good idea). The pizza was soo yummy and soo filling. It’s pretty much like a pie because it has a bottom crust and a top crust which they then top off with tomato sauce. Which is great for people like me who aren’t really a fan of tomatoes because you can just scrape it off =P It was pretty much like eating a block of cheese! I <3 cheese!! soo yummy! Highly recommend if you’re ever in the Chicago area.
