WestJet... Never Again

Tonight we left for Vegas, our flight was at 8:50pm thus we had to be at the airport a few hours before. Now normally we fly Air Canada, but my dad didn't want to pay for luggage so we booked with WestJet.  Since we were flying WestJet, we got to go through terminal 3 instead of 1. I don't remember when the last time we flew from terminal 1, i don't really remember it at all. :l I missed the newness of terminal 1 =[

After checking in, going through customs and security we got to our gate and it was packed! It turned out that the New York flight had been delayed due to the storm and I guess our flight to Vegas was also delayed. After an hour of waiting around with no announcements and updates we finally got called to board the plane. Worst service ever! It would have been nice to know what was going on. The flight itself wasn't too bad, they tried to make up for their delay by showing free movies (apparently WestJet makes you pay for movies and has live TV streaming) now all this doesn't sound too bad right? Well I found out that after you get out of the country the channels no longer get signal :l wtf?! So all I had to watch for 3 1/2 hours (it was a 4 hour flight) were the 3 free movies they offered. I decided to watch 'This Means War' again, it was alright, though it was a movie I wasn't going to willingly watch again. Luckily after the movie they showed two episodes of 'Wipeout Canada' and 'Hawaii Five-0'. I was happy with the 5-0, luckily shortly after it finished we were beginning our descent into McCarran Airport.

We finally landed around 12:30 am Vegas time (3:30am Home time) we also landed in the new terminal in Vegas instead of the usual crappy one, it was nice and new =] 

 
Once we got to the luggage pickup, they announced that it had switched areas (Now it felt like they were purposelessly messing with us :l) Anyways, luckily our luggage came out fairly quickly and then we were on our way to the rental car "mall". It was just our day when we arrived there to find that the company we were renting from had the longest line. We finally got our car, which was a nice fuel efficient Nissan Altima, and drove to our hotel for the night.

So our day consisted of a lot of waiting around, and no dinner! -_- not to mention I started work at 8:30 am that day, it was a long day. 

 
Normally I love going through the airport, but this was kind of just ridiculous. Hopefully our flight back home won't be terrible :l
