Our resort, and one of the few sunny days.
Our first stop of the trip was a paper museum, which was recommended to us by the concierge. It was surprisingly interesting. We learned that this is the company that produces the paper for the American money bills, which is pretty cool if you think about it because all the paper is produced in Dalton, MA.
Not much to see or do, plus everything was at least a 30 minute drive from the resort.
The view from the top of Mt. Greylock. We only hiked one trail up here, because we could see a storm blowing in.
On the top of Mt. Greylock there stood a lighthouse. (don't ask why, I didn't read the signs)
I did however, enjoy the spirally stairs.
To get away from all the nowhere-ness, we decided to drive even more into the middle of nowhere all the way into the State of New York. We read about this place called Howe's Caverns, so we decided to check it out.
I thought this place should be called "Howe's Cow's Cavern" =P Because it was his cows who discovered the cavern. They sat on an opening during the summer months because cool air would come out from the cavern.
I thought it was cool that they had boats in the cavern to take you to other parts.
We decided to make the 2 hour drive over to Boston since we have never been there before.
We spent about an hour driving around the south side of Boston since we really didn't know where to go or what to see. We ended up parking by the docks and just walking around in the area taking pictures. We didn't end up staying for the day in the city, due to the fact that parking was scarce. So we just drove back and went outlet mall shopping.
Heading home we decided to stop on the American side of Niagara Falls. I liked the view a lot better on this side. I guess I'm so used to the full frontal view of the falls that it was nice to get a new view of them.
We also stopped on the Canadian side to go to Fallsview casino. And since I am now 19 I can legally gamble in Canada! So I got my players card and we went to the buffet and got a discount =P
