The Closest National Park Yet...

Today we drove over to Yosemite National Park in California, it was about a 2 hour drive, so it's the closest to where we've been staying so far.

A Brief Overview of Yosemite
Yosemite is located in the Sierra Nevada. It's natural beauty can be found in both things big and small, from towering granite cliffs and giant sequoia grovers and volley. It is known for its natural wilderness which attracted John Muir, whom was one of the people responsible for petitioning this area to be protected under the government.

Most of the sites to see in the park are in the valley, most of the day hikes originate from there as well. However, we came through the east entrance (the west entrance is the closest to the valley) so we had a bit of driving to do.

This time around we didn't actually do a hike, previously we had done the majority of the good day hikes so we just wandered around for a bit, collected my stamps, and the headed on our way back. We did manage to spend a good 6 hours in this park though, there is a lot to see and do.
