Never ending Mountains & Giant Trees

Today we left Lake Tahoe and started our drive to Bakersfield, CA.

On our way we stopped at Kings Canyon and Sequoia National Park.

A Brief Overview of Kings Canyon and Sequoia
Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks lie side by side in the southern Sierra Nevada, east of the San Joaquin Valley. This landscape testifies to nature’s size, beauty, and diversity – huge mountains, rugged foothills, deep canyons, vast caverns, and the world’s largest trees.

We first drove through Kings Canyon, there wasn’t much to see on the drive. Unfortunately it took us about an hour to drive into the park and then an hour to drive back to the entrance of Sequoia. Though it looked like a relatively small park, it was not.

The one thing that I like about the views was that you could see the Sierra Nevada and how all the mountains just keep going and going in the distance.

We then drove into Sequoia where we only made a couple of stops, some visitor centres and the Largest tree in the World, the General Sherman Tree.

I think if you hollowed it out it would make a rather cozy home =P that’s how large the tree is.
We then exited the park and continued on our drive to Bakersfield.
